At TheDesignAir Awards 2024, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific took home three honors, including Design Airline of the Year, Asia. It received an overall design score of 81.9, putting it among the top six carriers worldwide.

Besides being recognized as Design Airline of the Year, Asia, Cathay Pacific also received awards for Best New Business Class, 2024 and Best New Premium Economy, 2024. The award for business class coincides with the airline’s introduction of the Aria Suite, a private space full of considered details, for enhanced comfort and luxury. The airline’s new business class and premium economy cabins debuted in October 2024 aboard Boeing 777-300ER.

Swiss International Airlines (SWISS) will acquire five Airbus A350-900 aircraft, beginning in 2027. That’s in addition to the five already on order, with deliveries occurring between 2025 and 2031. In 2025, Finnair is adding flights to Lapland during Easter weeks and Autumn, providing ski season thrills and gorgeous foliage. There will also be more flights for notable summertime events, providing even more opportunities to explore. That provides easier access to the Nordic country’s northernmost region, including subarctic wilderness, ski resorts, and natural phenomenon like the Northern Lights.

In April, as Easter approaches, there will be more flights to Kuusamo and Rovaniem, as the ski season concludes with prime conditions. For fall’s stunning foliage, flights to Kuusamo, Kittilä and Ivalo make it easy to take it all in. Additional summer flights cater to global adventurers, including the NUTS Karhunkierros trail running event in Ruka in May, June’s Solstice Festival in Ruka, July’s World Orienteering Championships in Kuopio, and Finland’s largest harness racing event, in Oulu, in August.

Air France will again show its culinary expertise, tapping Michelin-starred French Chef, Olivier Chaignon for inflight cuisine on routes from Japan. Starting in January 2025, La Première and Business passengers flying from Osaka-Kansai or Tokyo-Haneda to Paris can enjoy curated, cabin-specific menus. Each seating class gets 12 exclusive dishes.
Olivier Chaignon’s creations blend French and Japanese influences

Olivier Chaignon blended his French savoir-faire with local Japanese produce for his Japan to Paris menus. The recipes include fish, poultry, meat, and vegetarian options. Air France’s collaboration with Chaignon is the first time a French Chef has designed menus for Japan departures. The chef said: “For Air France customers, I wanted to create elegant, gourmet cuisine, showcasing Japanese produce while retaining a French taste and spirit”.
