I’ve spent most of my life in the salon industry. My mother started cutting hair early in my life. She was followed by my sister and then myself. Hair is in my blood. I officially began my career in 2005 and then joined the Snips staff in 2007. During my time at Snips I’ve strived to further my education in cutting and coloring techniques with some of the best stylists in the business. Educators like Sam Brocato, Benny Pollard, and Jay Fetta among others taught me a lot about the arts of cutting and coloring. In addition, I learned to educate my fellow stylists and clients on the proper use of products, how to have clear and concise dialog with my clients, and how to achieve the best style for every client that sits in my chair. Some of my favorite services are fashion color and cutting short hair for both men and women. Short hair presents far more challenges as there is less room for mistakes…and I love a good challenge.
Outside of the salon I like to spend my time playing music and video games. I enjoy standup comedy and historical documentaries as well as almost anything in the Sci-fi or fantasy genres. In 2015 I got married to my beautiful wife and amazing stylist Kay Harmon, who I met working at Snips. Together we challenge each other to be better stylists and people.
As a 2008 graduate of the Salon Professional Academy, I was fortunate to receive an exceptional education including advanced training in color chemistry and correction. While I enjoy all aspects of my art, I especially take pride in my ability to create specialized color for every client. Along with the artistic aspect, I have always been fascinated with the chemistry behind color creation and correction. I love being able to take a client from being content with their look to thrilled about their appearance. Being able to enhance the natural beauty of each individual is by far one of the greatest rewards of our business and something I strive to perfect every day.
When I’m not at the salon, you can find me at home snuggled up with my fur babies or gathered around the table with friends playing games. My husband Travis and I are big fans of all things Sci-fi and fantasy and participate in all the local nerd conventions. If I’m not at home, there’s a good chance I’m still with my family. I came from and married into a big family, so there’s always someone to talk to! It is Travis’s and my dream to keep Snips alive for generations to come.

I am very thankful for a very long and successful career. After attending Ball State University to study theater and design, I attended Amber’s School of Cosmetology and started my career as a platform artist for L’Image Cosmetics. I have been honored to train with some of our industry’s top talents – Paul Mitchell, Sam Brocato, Gino Stampora, Horst, and Bennie Pollard.
I have joined my love of design and hairstyling to create the fashion shows “Stages – A Style Retrospective” and “Up from the Dirt”. Recently I had the opportunity to step behind the camera and photograph “Rebirth”, combining high fashion with urban settings.

As a life long resident of the Eastside, I am proud to have been a member of the Snips team for 10 years.
My husband and I are both Scecina and IU graduates. My background is in education, but after teaching and raising my 4 children I began my second career at Aveda Institute.
I have enjoyed advancing my skills and providing services for this community. My passion is formal hairstyling, particularly wedding styles. It is extremely rewarding to create that perfect look for such a joyous occasion. Another favorite is creating a “natural blonde” look for those of us who just love summer!
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family…especially my 3 grandchildren. I also love traveling, exploring the outdoors, and dancing in my Zumba class.

I have always loved doing hair and makeup, so it was obvious to me to dive into the beauty industry. I attended Empire Beauty School and came to Snips after my schooling. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to learn and grow with an amazing staff.
I specialize most in giving clients natural color. I love working with people and making them feel good about themselves.
Hello, my name is Sarah. I have been a part of the Snips family for over 10 years now. I am an Irvington native, but I now live in Fortville with my husband and 3 children.
I started working at Snips while finishing school at A Cut Above. In the time I have been doing hair, I have developed a love for and great understanding of hair color. Having naturally curly hair also helps me create styles for my clients by knowing how the hair behaves. I love that hair styles and trends are ever changing, and I take pride in being able to provide the most current ones for my clients.

I grew up with my mom doing my hair and giving me crazy hairstyles all throughout middle school and high school. I was able to attend New Castle vocational school during my junior and senior years of high school. I graduated in 2015 with technical honors and a yearning to learn and grow in my craft. Fortunately, I was able to get into a wonderful apprenticeship program that taught me everything I know. During that time, I took over 20 classes to further my education. These classes took me from Louisville, KY all the way to Las Vegas, NV.
I love making old styles new again and really enjoy men’s cuts and styles. Product knowledge is my go to…I want to tell you the truth about why I’m using the products I use.
Special effects makeup is one of the reasons I got into this industry. I’m obsessed with Lord of the Rings and the feeling that even someone small can do great things! I can’t wait to grow with Snips and meet new people. When you come into the salon, make sure you say hello!

I earned my esthetics license in 1997. I’ve had the incredible fortune of being trained by German estheticians and did some training in Baden Baden Germany and Strasbourg France. I have worked in the past with plastic surgeons and dermatologists.
So much has changed in the last 21 years, but the one thing that remains the same is that people want honest answers, and rightfully so. My specialty is the focus on the different causes of skin problems. I feel it’s important to understand why skin is behaving the way it does. Once the cause is uncovered, the skin can be treated properly.
My most requested service is dermaplane because I am very thorough, and it can be added to any other service. It smooths the skin so beautifully!
My passions in life are nutrition, fitness, and kindness.

I came to this industry by complete accident. I am very fortunate to have been a part of the Snips client family for several years now and just happen to be mom to stylist Kay Harmon and mother-in-law to stylist Travis Harmon! I have been married to my husband Gerry for 30 years and have 4 amazing grown children. When I’m not at the salon you will find me cuddled up with a book, walking the dog, or enjoying a night out with my family.
My professional background includes everything from stay-at-home mom, to Special Ed classroom assistant, to Personal Trainer, to HR Manager. When the former owners decided that is was time to slow down and move away from salon ownership, they knew they wanted to keep the business in the salon “family”. My husband Gerry and I decided to step in at that point and offer our help. Although we don’t have experience in the salon industry, we have been successful in growing an Indianapolis-based IT company over the last 7 years. Gerry brings with him many additional years of business experience as well. We knew that Snips would be a great investment because of its successful history, it’s amazing staff, and its loyal clientele.
We look forward to continuing Snips’ tradition of superior service in a friendly atmosphere while taking the salon to the next level!
Client Care Specialist
Hello, my name is Courtney. I have many jobs around the salon, but my favorite one is bridging the gap between clients and their service provider. Happy stylists, estheticians, and clients make my job worthwhile. One of my favorite things is to see the before and after when a client receives a new hairstyle, beautiful color, or fresh and glowing skin. If there is anything I can do to make your experience at Snips any better, please let me know!
I graduated from IUPUI with a degree in ceramics and pottery, and in my spare time I create pottery. The pieces that you see displayed at Snips are created by me! My business is CAMamics, and I produce handmade ceramics for home and hearth.
